Disclaimer: This entire entry is all about food so I advise you not to view it if you are hungry and is in desperate need of food!

Sugar Loaf 1

Kimberly, Elaine, Phyllis & I are very much insane over desserts. We hyperventilate at the sight of desserts and so, we visited Sugar Loaf twice to indulge in them! For both visits, we picked the al fresco dining because we just love to eat our sweet treats whilst enjoying the cool breeze.

I ordered the spinach tofu with mushrooms. Personally, I don't find this absolutely yummy because the tofu was not warm enough for my liking. However, I find it pretty unique too because I could literally chew on the spinach in the tofu!

Panna cotta also known as Italian cooked cream. The cream was sweet and yummy and it went well with the fruits on top! Every mouthful was pure bliss!

The cheesecake was really moist and delicious, I must say. How bad could cheesecakes taste?

Fruit tart with six different kinds of fruits!

Bread and butter!

Our desserts! I swear they look damn good and I assure you that they tasted equally good as well! Believe me, ok?

Sugar Loaf 2

Apple mousse. I think it would taste better if it was less sour! I was cringing with every mouthful of the apple mousse.

Blueberry cake, I think? I can't remember.  I just remember the cake to be really fluffy. The cream was not overpowering too, it was just nice!

Orange cream pie (Not funny)

Apricot chocolate cake? I like this best, so moist and rich.

Wawawa Bistro By The Reservoir

Elaine, Kimberly, Allson, Ephrem and I went to Wawawa to dine quite a while ago. I really fancy the atmosphere as it was very relaxing to dine by the reservoir. The bistro played soothing music and the lighting was dim so that evening was pretty romantic.

Ginger Ale! It was really carbonated and the bubbles just fizzled like crazy.

Smoked duck salad. The duck tasted fairly good and the meat was tender enough.

Hawaiian pizza! The crust was really thin and this pizza was really cheesy, yummy!

The boys ordered Margarita even though they are below the legal age, naughty naughty!

Chicken and mushroom baked rice! The serving was too huge for me and I struggled to finish it. It became a bit jelat after eating 3/4 of it.

Sakae Sushi

My sister and I went to Wisma Atria's Sakae Sushi for dinner two weeks ago. It has been quite a while since I had Japanese food and was craving for it then!

Beef hotpot! I love beef so much so dearly! I can't live without beef, I swear.

Chawanmushi which means "tea cup steam" in Japanese. Makes no sense to me though, really.

Fried hotate. I always order this whenever I eat at Sakae Sushi!

Edamame beans! I can never eat Edamame beans in peace without fearing that the beans might pop out and fly over to the next table. Mine flew onto the floor and the manager stared at me. Ok.

California Maki!

Bedok85

My family and I went to Bedok85 for dinner last Sunday! Food was yummy and cheap! I would love to visit there again, anybody wants to date me?

Sugarcane juice that was so refreshingly delicious. But it would probably taste better with a slice of lemon.

I love this century egg and pork congee! The congee was so smooth and flavorful. Best thing is that this congee was served piping hot!

Bak chor mee! The soup was flavorful and tasty!

BBQ chicken wings. We ordered satays too and it was yummy! I love BBQ chicken wings with lime and the chili dipping!

Do you feel hungry after viewing this entry? I know you do! *wink wink*

Happy Birthday, papa!
Friday, July 20, 2012 | 5:50 PM | 0 comments

Let's rewind back to Monday, where my family and I celebrated my papa's birthday! My sister made a birthday card (I am only in-charged of making cards on Father's day/Mother's day because birthday cards are supposed to look nicer, if you know what I mean).

My mummy cooked ang-zao mee sua for my family to celebrate my papa's birthday. According to the old, it brings everything good if people eat mee sua on their birthdays! My mummy is a good chef and that bowl of red goodness tasted so good that my mouth is watering now. Look at those mushrooms, egg and chicken drumstick!

We got him a banana cake because cream cakes are a no-no for him! The banana cake was moist and tasted fairly good!

We also bought him a fish fish cake! He likes fish and fish cake so we thought that would be a good combination.

Almond and normal flavored tau huey! I love tau huey, it just glides down your throat so smoothly! I like the 'lao-ban' kind of tau huey.

My papa enjoyed his day and I am happy to have him as my father. I love him so much! *hug hug*

Fat, fatter, fattest
Sunday, July 08, 2012 | 3:59 PM | 0 comments

Guess what? I put on weight. I put on five god damn kilograms. Shit, it must be all the late-night suppers that caused me to grow horizontally. Can somebody please bite me each time I sink my teeth into yummy food after twelve midnight? I really need a strict regimen to keep my BMI in a healthy range. I am contemplating whether to run on the treadmill every day for ten minutes, but I don't think I have the determination to do so! I get so upset when my relatives all say that I put on weight, I look fatter, I look fuller, I look rounder and etc.

On the other hand, my friends all said that I still look very much the same. However, I actually did grow fatter. Just take a look at my before and after pictures.

Taken earlier this year. I wouldn't dare to wear this dress out any time soon.

This is me now. Don't tell me that I look the same because I know I don't. I am so glad I wore a black dress instead of a white one. Imagine how huge I will look in a white dress? Holy shit, I am now fat and short. I know I should be doing something instead of just whining here. For the sake of beauty, I will go exercise and eat healthily, yes I will!

IKEA
Tuesday, July 03, 2012 | 9:40 PM | 0 comments

Today, 7 kids (Elaine, Kimberly, Phyllis, Wira, Alex, Jethro and myself) went to IKEA (pronounced as eee-kay-yer) to indulge in some yummy food! For $10, I had 10 meatballs, a few slices of salmon and 2 chicken wings!

I think the swedish meatballs were yummy but not as good as before. The meatballs were rather flat and no longer as round as usual. Nevertheless, I was happy to have my meatballs coupled with both lingonberry sauce and cream sauce.

The salmon was pretty fresh and I especially like it with the mustard dressing!

I am envious of people who are skilled enough to eat chicken wings with their fork and spoon. I can't do that at all! I would probably go nuts and grab the entire chicken wing with both hands and devour it like some barbarian. Either that, or my chicken wing would fly out of my plate and to the next table.

Vermicelli with my family
Saturday, June 30, 2012 | 10:14 PM | 0 comments

My family and I went to eat the famous vermicelli at Kembangan for dinner. It was so yummy that I ate so much and my tummy bulged out (if you already know about the issues of my tummy, shut up). Price-wise, it was pretty reasonable. A meal for 4 came up to a total of $48!

This is the yummy vermicelli that contains the meat, liver and kidney of a pig. I absolutely love the broth, it was so thick and full of flavors.

What's zi char without some clams (la-la)? I love the sauce of the clams, so sour and spicy with a generous amount of garlic. The clams were really fresh!

Next up, sambal kang kong! I like the crunchiness of this veggie and the sambal paste was delicious.

Steamed fish that was not fishy at all and the meat was absolutely soft!

My family ate really quick and we finished everything in a short 15 minutes. I guess we were all hungry to the last organism in our bodies!

Me, a graphic designer? *chuckles*

Tomorrow is the submission of the logos for Essentials of Graphic Design. We are supposed to design six logos for the different attractions in the newly opened Gardens By The Bay. I hope Ms Teh likes my work because I spent a humongous amount of time on them. I am happy with the end product for my logos given that I am pretty bad at using the "pen tool" on Adobe Illustrator. I also dislike converting anchor points, yuck!

My six logos are all designed using lines (straight/curves) and the unique bit is that the lines are all not connected. I guess the theme for my logos will be "unconnected lines". It is important to have a theme when we design the six logos because we would want people to know that all these logos belong to the same organization.

Here are my logos:

I designed a butterfly because I can imagine countless of butterflies in a lovely meadow.  I see that a lot in cartoons and children's story books.

Taman Masagung means "Park of the royal gold" in the Malay language. Therefore, I designed a crown!

I designed a swan because this particular attraction is used for private events such as wedding receptions, fine dining and etc. I feel that swans are really elegant and gentle which best fit for these private events.

The roof of this particular attraction uses clear glass. In order to view the beauty of this attraction, the sun is really important so as to shine through the clear glass and then, to the area.

Lily Pad is an area to carry out family events and etc. I feel that every family should be closely bonded like how our five fingers are all connected together to make a palm.

At night, Silver Leaf is a magical place with all the fanciful lights and decorations. From young, Neopets taught me to associate magic with potion bottles!

Sad is just an understatement

I returned to school after my 2-weeks holiday and I had Media & Society tutorial on a monday morning, in the first period. Things didn't go so well as it was time for me to receive my assignments and results.

Individual assignment 1 (Forum letter): B+
Mid-semester test: C

I know the entire cohort did badly across the board but that's not the point. The point is, why didn't I do better? I am so upset on how I fared because I really studied/mugged my ass off. I literally teared in the morning as I asked myself repeatedly, "I worked hard. Where are my good results?"

In the evening, I stood at the balcony for a good half an hour to brood over my results. As I watched the sunset, it made me even sadder. I felt like the world is no longer going to shine on me anymore. I guess it's time for me to stop wallowing in self-pity and to buck up instead.

Even though I am not of the legal age....

I downed a bottle of Bacardi Breezer but it didn't help to take away my sadness. I suppose Breezer is not enough to drown one's sorrows. I shall go get some sleep now and hopefully, I will feel much happier in the morning.
